About Us

Geelong Fishing Charters runs family-friendly fishing charters on their purpose-built fishing vessel Sidewinder I in Corio Bay out of Geelong. Only venturing out when calm waters prevail, and with a large flat area to move around comfortably in, the larger boat offers a greater degree of stability and a smoother travelling experience suitable for all ages.

The covered vessel is 11.6m x 3.9m, and on board there is a toilet and licensed bar (9am-8pm Sun-Thur, 9am-11pm Fri-Sat). The boat is surveyed for 20 passengers (& 2 crew), though the number of passengers on each charter is usually limited to around 16 where possible.

Due to the size of the vessel, lifejackets are not required to be worn unless in case of emergency, though they are located on board. There is also a large, inflatable life raft on board.

Geelong Fishing Charters is owned and operated by Tracy & Brian with the view to making it a more family-friendly option and endeavouring to cater to fishers of all ages and skillset. Fishing gear brands on board include Shimano and Shakespeare, as well as small children’s rods for younger fishers. An unlimited selection of baits is offered, and of course, everyone gets to take home the fish they catch (after it’s been cleaned, of course!).
